I think after watching the film High Fidelity we had a brief spate of ordering CDs chronologically which was excellent for getting an audio history, but dreadful for finding a particular CD :-)

They're now pretty much all stored in the loft after having been ripped onto iTunes.

I'm one of those messy people but I'll never change. I need technology to rescue me with a 1 terabyte keychain that I can put ridiculous amounts of media on.

I'd probably fill it up too.

You've got a very well designed blog, btw.

Having all my music in iTunes, I do miss being able to browse CDs. Still, my collection has grown to the point where it was taking up way too much room and I decided to throw away the cases and retain just the CDs and sleeves in a nice big metal box. And I found Coverflow (which lets you flip through albums in a nice interface) and Clutter (which lets you dump a big stack of them on your desktop) so I can browse and find things I haven't listened to in a while.

Of course, we won't go into the slightly anal numbering of the CDs in the box being matched to the "Grouping" field in the metadata allowing me to make nice lists of things in spreadsheets...
